As a Supporter of Three Bays Preservation, you are well aware of the work we need to accomplish. Will you help us to continue this mission?
Dear Friend of Three Bays Preservation:
2011 has been a landmark year for our organization in calling attention to the plight of the Three Bays in the Town of Barnstable. Through an unprecedented number of programs and activities, Three Bays Preservation got our members and their friends, and the general public out onto the water. We engaged them in exploration along the shores and in hands-on learning on eco-adventure tours aboard boats. And, we invited them to join us in some exciting sporting events on paddle boards, in kayaks and in canoes. No matter how they came to these waters, our message to them was the same: to continue to enjoy this vital estuary, we must continue our vigilance to preserve, maintain, protect and enhance its health through the programs of this organization.
We have Three Bays, but only One Mission. West Bay, Cotuit Bay and North Bay are the focus of our collective concern, as we monitor their continual degradation through the presence of high levels of bacteria and other contaminants, and through the disappearance of native plant species and wildlife in the watershed. The signs are clearly evident that the Bays need our continued intervention to restore them to good health.
Our activities at Three Bays Preservation include important water quality monitoring programs, enhancement projects, wildlife protection and, of course, advocacy and outreach in all available public and private forums. Our staff continues to participate and represent the interests of the Three Bays in community forums that are leading us to important Cape-wide efforts to tackle serious wastewater issues and seek the most effective solutions to treatment. All of this is only made possible by your continued support of this organization.
This 2011 Annual Appeal once more asks "Will you help us continue?
In challenging economic times, we hope that you will consider the work of this organization as one of the key efforts to protect something that is vital to you and the life of our community — the life of our Three Bays.
With sincere appreciation,
Bill Gahagan
