Three Bays Preservation, Inc. Receives Inaugural ‘One Cape’ Award for Water Quality Stewardship


(Osterville, Mass.) –The Cape Cod Commission presented Three Bays Preservation Inc. with the inaugural One Cape Award for “outstanding leadership and dedication to water quality on Cape Cod” at its recent One Cape:  Implementing Solutions for Clean Water conference. The two-day event was held at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis. Attending were local, state and federal regulators, lawmakers, decision-makers, environmental non-profits and members of the general public, all of whom are dedicated to finding solutions to restoring impaired freshwater and marine environments.


In presenting the award, Cape Cod Commission Executive Director Niedzwiecki said, “We are pleased to present this inaugural award to an organization that for 20 years has been raising the flag on embayment water quality, educating its members and the community at large and doing the work to ensure the area’s future can rival its past.”


“We are very proud of our Executive Director Lindsey Counsell and Program Manager Judy Heller for their tireless work on behalf of our members and all the citizens of Barnstable,” said Michael J. Egan, president of the Board of Directors at Three Bays. “Three Bays Preservation will continue advocating for nitrogen pollution prevention and removal,” Egan added.
