A Message from the President

Begun just eleven years ago, Three Bays Preservation has had a major impact on the aquatic environment of our magnificent bays. Your organization has become the leader in our community for the protection of our environment, and each year we learn more and more about how our three bays function.

Three Bays Preservation has brought to light the need for immediate action to stop the flow of nutrients and contaminants into our bays, and because of this the town of Barnstable and the State of Massachusetts have responded and are taking action.

. Circulation channels ignored for over 20 years are once again being maintained.
. Dead Neck Island has been restored to a thing of beauty, where both wild life and beach goers flourish.
. And last but not least the tide has turned on pollution, and the quality of our water is starting to improve.

These all started because a few dedicated homeowners could not stand by and watch this jewel we call the Three Bays slowly die. We are proud to say that Three Bays Preservation has grown into a major organization of dedicated people who donate their time and resources for the preservation of our aquatic environment. The staff of Three Bays, lead by Lindsey Counsell, is a community leader in the battle against pollution. Three Bays is the "Watch Dog" for our aquatic environment.

The mission has had a good start but there is still much to be accomplished. We appreciate your support of our programs, but want you to know that without your continued support we will be unable to complete our mission.

Thank you!!

Bill Gahagan
