We are a group of residents who came together in 1996 to address the troubling problems in our beloved Cotuit, North, and West Bays. Shellfish beds had been closed for years because of pollution. Algae blooms were fouling our pristine beaches. Dead Neck, an important barrier beach and bird sanctuary, was rapidly eroding and had been breached several times.

We were not about to stand by and let this continue. After all, these waters mean more than boating, swimming, and fishing. They are part of our identity. They are part of what makes us Cape Codders.

Thus was born the non-profit Three Bays Preservation, Inc. And thus was conceived the largest privately funded dredging project in the history of the Town of Barnstable.

We are a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
